The Association for Thought and Literary Studies was founded to promote research in the fields of literature and thought, to support cultural production, and to provide a sustainable platform for academic collaboration. Through organizing scholarly events, developing research projects, and producing publications, the Association aims to enhance the quality and visibility of literary and cultural studies at both national and international levels.
Our activities include symposia, panels, conferences, workshops, and seminars, as well as the preparation of books, journals, newsletters, and digital publications. One of our priorities is to design scholarships, awards, and support programs for young researchers, students, and writers, thereby encouraging qualified intellectual and literary production.
Beyond being a civil society organization, the Association serves as a platform for solidarity and collaboration among scholars working in the fields of literature and culture. By developing joint projects with universities, research centers, and cultural institutions in Turkey and abroad, we contribute to strengthening the connections of Turkish literary studies with the global academic community.
Since its establishment, the Association has embraced the mission of being open not only to its members but also to the broader scholarly community, making literary studies more visible in the public sphere. Among our publishing activities, Nesir: Journal of Literary Studies holds a special place. Through this peer-reviewed journal, we aim to provide a respected platform for literary scholarship on both national and international scales.
The Association for Thought and Literary Studies regards literature not merely as an aesthetic domain but as an inseparable part of thought and social life. With this vision, we seek to strengthen intercultural dialogue, to empower the next generation of researchers, and to preserve literature as a living element of humanity’s shared heritage.
